Are you joining Tiktok now and going to make your first video with caption? Perhaps you too have joined for a while. But want to start using written words with your TikTok videos.

No worries, it only takes a few moments. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to add text to your TikTok videos.

How to add text to tiktok video

Adding text and text boxes to your TikTok videos is relatively simple. You do this in the same edit menu where you add effects, sounds, and stickers.

Once TikTok takes you to the video editing menu, tap on the text icon (AA) at the bottom of the screen.

Type the words you want to put on your video.

Change the text color and font (optional). Choose your favorite color from the round colored dots at the top of your keyboard. You can also change your text font by tapping the font names right above the color options. For example, you can select the handwriting option for italicized text.

Align text (optional). Quickly tap the text alignment bar to the left of the font options to align your text to the left, right, or center.

Change caption style (optional). To the left of the alignment bar, touch the highlighted icon represented by A to add various highlights to your text. For example, you can use this option to make your text bold or to display it in a box. Keep tapping this symbol to see the available options.

Once you’ve finished typing and designing the text, tap .

You can then manually adjust the position of the text by dragging it across your screen.

Tap Next to go to the uploading menu, where you can now upload or draft your captioned video.

Since TikTok lets users stitch videos together, if you want, you can also add text to each stitched video.

All you have to do is repeat the steps mentioned above.

You can add multiple bits of text or insert multiple words to your TikTok video by repeating these steps and treating each piece of text as a separate element or sticker.

Once you are satisfied with this step, you can go ahead and describe your video, add tags, post your TikTok video or save it to your draft.

That’s it. You have just added words to your TikTok video. As you can see, it is as easy as creating a Tiktok video.

How to edit text on tiktok

You can edit the added text before going to the publish menu if it needs more patching.

To do so, all you have to do is tap on the written text and select Edit from the popup options. Then redo your captions to your preferred flavor by repeating the steps to add text to your video. When you’ve finished making your edits, tap Done.

However, if the video is already in draft, all you need to do is go to your profile and select it to edit the words you typed earlier. Then follow the directions given above.

Set duration of tiktok video text and make text disappear

To get a little more creative, you can set how long you want the text to appear in your video and have it disappear as people play your video. You can also specify the point in your video where you want the caption to start appearing.

Convert text to speech on your tiktok videos

If you want to use the text-to-speech feature of TikTok, you can also convert the words written on your TikTok videos to speech. It is easy to create awareness about your Tiktok videos.

To get it, all you need to do is touch the written text and select Text-to-Speech.

It converts all the words you type on your Tiktok videos to audio without deleting the original text. Once done, you will hear an audible voice repeating the words you type on your video.
